📋 Description

• Mentor, role model, and facilitate guidance and academic support for nursing students • Demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and the teaching/learning process • Apply skills and experience to the assigned teaching schedule • Participate in assessment activities for courses, curricula, and programs • Contribute to improvement of class materials and syllabi • Use varied teaching methodologies to facilitate student learning outcomes • Maintain scholarly activities • Participate in professional growth and university service • Support students’ success as healthcare professionals • Use simulation labs, innovation labs, and other university technologies • When teaching clinically, assume responsibility for students in clinical facilities • Clarify clinical expectations and placements with students and facility staff • Direct students to resources for clinical preparation • Assess student knowledge and skills to ensure patient safety and optimal care • Conduct pre- and post-conferences connecting theory content with clinical objectives • Provide immediate and periodic feedback on clinical performance

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of five years’ prior experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care • Minimum of three years’ experience in the field in which they teach • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint • Experience working with online learning management systems • Compliance with state, federal, and local laws and regulations, including state Board of Nursing requirements • Education and experience must align with state regulations and state authorization agencies • MSN required • DNP or PhD required • Professional nurse licensure required
