📋 Description

• Obtain insurance information and counsel patients on alternative financial assistance options • Communicate with physicians and clinical staff regarding urgent or referred patient scheduling requests • Provide patient scheduling services, including collecting demographics and insurance registration • Review and update new-patient schedules • Call patients with appointment reminders and obtain insurance information and referral forms • Process internal physician referrals for clinical care • Explain billing processes to patients and staff and answer inquiries from patients and third-party payers • Resolve moderately complex problems with others • Assist with basic account maintenance activities • Assist patients with insurance questions about billing • Send reminder cards and perform other scheduling duties • Work Relatient patient reminder system results and contact patients or make scheduling changes • Make daily edits and temporary changes to provider scheduling templates based on physician input when needed • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent high school certification or combination of education and/or experience • 3 years of relevant experience • No specific certification/professional license required • Driver's license is not required • Ability to obtain insurance information and referral forms • Ability to counsel patients on financial assistance and billing processes • Ability to schedule and register patients by phone or email • Experience or knowledge involving billing systems, customer service, Epic EHR, financial information, insurance, medical office support, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word, organizing, prioritization, scheduling, and third-party claims
