📋 Description

• Perform pre-award duties in response to proposal guidelines and terms and conditions • Work with faculty and Principal Investigators on proposal preparation, budgets, justifications, submissions, and agency forms • Serve as liaison between the Chair, faculty, and Department Administrators • Coordinate subaward setup and implementation of contracts and subcontracts • Provide internal notices of award and identify special terms, conditions, and committed effort • Monitor annual agency reports and collaborate on revised budgets • Coordinate transfers of grants and contracts into Wash U • Support internal and external requests for grant-related compliance information • Track grants submitted, awarded, and rejected in an online database • Close sponsored project accounts and submit final reports and invention statements • Follow up on delinquent technical, outcomes, patent, and property reports • Manage sponsored project budgets, expenditures, reconciliations, overdrafts, and cost-sharing commitments • Approve purchasing documents and advise purchasing staff on grant-compliant expenditures • Troubleshoot fund profile setup and financial report errors • Prepare and distribute monthly financial reports to Principal Investigators and senior leadership • Assist Department Administrators with fund reconciliation and spending monitoring • Support senior leadership with special projects and perform other assigned duties

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required, or a combination of education and/or experience may substitute for the minimum education • 2 years of relevant experience • Knowledge of RMS (Research Management System) and SUBS preferred • Knowledge of agency guidelines preferred • Skills in accounting, computerized accounting, and grant administration preferred • Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat, IBM Cognos Analytics, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, Microsoft OneNote, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Word, and Workday Software preferred • Analytical thinking, computer literacy, deadline management, interpersonal communication, oral communication, and written communication skills • Must successfully complete required pre-employment screening, as applicable, including criminal background checks and verification of employment and education or licensure/certification • No specific certification or professional license required • Driver’s license is not required
