• Complete field inspections, including reading maps and aerial photos and measuring fields and storage bins • Discuss crop-loss findings with farmers on complex, non-routine, problematic, and controversial claims • Convey complex regulations and interpretations to claimants, agents, and industry people • Perform fact finding regarding crop damage • Record and transmit loss information to accurately determine potential indemnities • Gather relevant facts, utilize applicable law, and establish basic principles of negligence • Complete claim reviews and audits on lower-level adjusters as assigned • Maintain working knowledge of regulatory and company policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance • Contribute to team projects and related results • Service agricultural counties within a 50-mile radius of Fresno, Tulare, Kern, and Madera, California • Travel approximately 50% to cover the territory • For the Crop Claims Specialist, travel outside the assigned area, participate on CAT teams, and/or provide remote assistance for CROP Claims Care Center calls and CCP claims
• For RCIS Crop Claims Field Adjuster I: High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 or more months of experience in the agricultural area • For Crop Claims Specialist: High School Diploma or Equivalent and 4 or years of experience in the agricultural or crop insurance industry • Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program Certification (CAPP) must be obtained within 180 days of hire • Reliable/personal transportation and travel within the assigned territory • Valid Driver’s License • Ability to walk in agricultural fields up to 3 miles • Ability to climb agricultural storage bins up to 50 feet • Ability to lift 25 lbs. to 50 lbs. • Ability to work outdoors in varying temperatures/weather conditions • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills preferred • Strong organization and prioritization skills preferred • Experience as a Crop Claims Field Adjuster preferred • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills preferred • No employment sponsorship offered
