📋 Description

• Handle all phases of litigation from initial evaluation through resolution • Partner with claims professionals to develop case strategy • Conduct discovery • Negotiate settlements • Appear at hearings • Advocate for clients throughout the litigation process • Senior-level attorneys may mentor colleagues and serve as technical resources on complex matters

🎯 Requirements

• Staff Legal Attorney: Juris Doctor and 1 or more years of experience in the Litigation area • Staff Legal Attorney: Member of the Bar in good standing in jurisdiction(s) in which practice is located • Trial Attorney: Juris Doctor and 5 or more years of litigation experience • Trial Attorney: Member in good standing of the California State Bar • Experience working with Lexis or Westlaw • Trial Attorney: Experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe • Knowledge of the insurance industry, claims and insurance defense litigation legal environment • Knowledge of law and procedure • Experience using Lexis, Westlaw, or similar legal research platforms • GL trial experience preferred • Strong communication and negotiation skills preferred • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities preferred • Ability to manage a caseload independently preferred • Experience working in a collaborative team environment preferred • Trial, hearing, mediation, and settlement experience preferred • Senior Trial Attorney candidates: experience handling moderate- to high-complexity matters, mentoring attorneys, and serving as a subject matter resource preferred • Employment sponsorship is not offered
