Descrição

• Lead work related to Share Our Strength's state legislative and regulatory priorities • Partner with the State Campaign Team and state-based partners to develop and execute strategies and work plans for state policy goals • Build relationships and provide issue education • Register as a lobbyist for Share Our Strength if required • Monitor legislation and legislative trends impacting nutrition and anti-poverty programs • Provide timely legislative analysis and response • Collaborate on drafting legislative and regulatory policy • Manage relationships with state officials, staff, and external partners • Support organizational goals through feedback, needs and progress assessments, barrier and opportunity identification, strategy development, and resource mobilization • Partner with Advocacy and Government Relations colleagues across local, state, and federal government • Provide strategic counsel during campaign development, execution, policy implementation, annual planning, and other strategic matters • Oversee and leverage partnerships with external associations of state elected officials • Support diversity and inclusion throughout the organization and its work • Supervise Senior Managers of State Government Relations and potentially interns and external consultants • Travel up to 20%

🎯 Requisitos

• 6–9 years of relevant experience focused on state-level issue advocacy, lobbying, or public policy • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred but not required • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills • Strong judgment and emotional intelligence • Demonstrated success developing and managing collaborative policy-change partnerships with defined results • Ability to work independently on multi-step, detail-oriented projects in a fluid environment • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Experience presenting to high-level audiences • Interest in anti-hunger, food justice, and anti-poverty issues • MS Office proficiency • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills • Ability to travel up to 20%
