📋 Description

• Execute startup, commissioning, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repair activities on electrical power distribution equipment. • Perform field service activities on low- and medium-voltage switchgear, circuit breakers, protective relays, automatic transfer switches (ATS), PLCs, and power management systems. • Diagnose equipment and system failures and implement corrective actions. • Support retrofits, upgrades, modernization projects, and emergency service calls. • Develop electrical drawings, schematics, and bills of material as required. • Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain strong customer relationships. • Prepare service reports, commissioning reports, and customer documentation. • Report to the Field Service Manager. • Contribute to the profitability of ABB Electrification Services Division in the Mid-Atlantic Region.

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED, plus 8+ years of field service or engineering experience in electrical power distribution systems. • Additional formal education may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis. • Strong working knowledge of low- and medium-voltage switchgear and circuit breakers. • Strong working knowledge of protective relays (SEL, GE Multilin, or equivalent). • Experience commissioning, maintaining, or troubleshooting power distribution equipment. • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and protection/control drawings. • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel up to 70%. • Candidates must already have a work authorization that allows them to work for ABB in the United States. • Preferred: Experience and working knowledge of Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), generator control systems, PLC and HMI platforms. • Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field. • Preferred: Experience commissioning, maintaining, or troubleshooting power distribution equipment in industrial, utility, commercial, or data center environments.
