📋 Description

• Build strategic, long-term relationships with patient associations and stakeholders • Align priorities and plan activities that impact decision makers • Provide input on patient engagement, advocacy, and centricity across the patient journey • Improve the patient experience and inform corporate and brand strategies • Collaborate with people living with diseases and patient associations to identify priorities, unmet needs, and solutions • Develop and lead a proactive patient relations agenda • Develop and implement advocacy strategies and action plans with timelines, budgets, and stakeholder responsibilities • Coordinate and implement patient-centric initiatives supporting commercial strategies for a defined therapeutic area • Provide insights on trends and opportunities for patient strategy and brand plans • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to find solutions for patients • Monitor patient-related activities and report to brand teams • Partner with Area and Global teams on strategic programs suitable for Canada • Represent AbbVie at relevant meetings, including strategic patient association meetings • Identify innovative ways to learn from patients and communicate patient needs to Brand teams • Serve as an expert on patient associations’ strengths, challenges, and needs • Build relationships with functional leads in Marketing, Government Affairs, Market Access, Public Affairs, Medical Affairs, and other functions • Ensure written documentation, Code of Practice, and ACC reporting obligations are met • Report to the Lead, Patient Engagement • Cover Canada while working in the field

🎯 Requirements

• Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience • Bachelor in Communications, Sciences, Nursing, Public Affairs or any other relevant discipline • Advanced proficiency in English and French; preference to bilingual candidates • Experience working with patient associations • Experience in patient/stakeholder relations, market access and/or marketing • Experience working with cross-functional teams and brand team environment is an asset • Intermediate computer and software skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), Outlook and Internet • Ability to empathize with patients and build trusting relationships • Ability to build relationships with patient organizations • Ability to multitask across numerous stakeholders and projects • Ability to prepare and deliver effective presentations • Strategic verbal and written communication skills • Active listening and stakeholder needs assessment skills • Strategic thinking and ability to challenge the status quo • Ability to influence decision makers • Strong interpersonal skills • Autonomy and strong planning skills • Budget management skills • Strong project management skills • Knowledge of legislation and ethics for working with patients and patient associations • Understanding of media and communication trends • Understanding of provincial and federal political environments and healthcare systems • Ability to take key actions and demonstrate behavioral anchors supporting AbbVie leadership philosophy and attributes • Travel required about 20–25% of the time • Valid driver’s license and passport • Advanced English skills are essential for working with English-speaking employees, clients, and regions outside Quebec
