📋 Description

• Break down larger projects into individual tasks and deliver them in phases • Collaborate with the tech lead, manager, product management, design and analytics teams • Participate in ideation and articulate technical constraints • Partner on decisions considering risks and trade-offs • Create and monitor metrics for team artifacts • Escalate issues and support operations, availability, “keep the lights on” and on-call efforts • Participate in growth and development activities, including interviews • Design and implement features in Affirm’s underwriting platform for partnered merchants and users across Affirm Card, e-commerce sites and the Affirm app

🎯 Requirements

• 1.5+ years of experience as a software engineer • Experience designing, developing and launching backend systems • Proficiency in Python or Kotlin • Familiarity with distributed systems • Familiarity with AWS, MySQL and Kubernetes • Ability to design solutions interacting with multiple software components • Ability to write clear, well-tested and extensible code • Comfortable navigating a large code base and debugging others' code • Experience providing feedback through code reviews • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Must reside in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, or Saskatchewan
