• Prepare the Site-Specific Safety Plans and Activity Hazard Analysis for assigned Business Unit projects • Ensure compliance to all Safety Policies and adopted Standards • Ensure personal protective equipment meets applicable OSHA/EPA requirements and employees are trained on proper use • Conduct Safety Audits of assigned project sites ensuring work is being accomplished safely and occupational health is not compromised • Safety training of all personnel assigned to project • Conduct project safety inspections with follow-up inspections of any open items • Review Subcontractor safety qualifications and attend Pre-Construction Meetings • Creation and evaluating activity hazard reviews • Regulatory compliance with OSHA and Ameresco standards and conducts accident and incident investigations • Development and Implementation of Corrective Action Plans • Work with project supervision to create safety solutions to safety problems • Foster and maintains a positive safety culture for the project personnel • Maintain all safety certifications as required by contracts • Conduct quarterly safety meetings for Project Staff • Produce Safety Reports of activities performed • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to get along with customers, co-workers, supervisors, and management • Lead Incident/accident Investigations • Perform other duties as required
• B.S. Degree in Occupational Safety & Health Engineering or similar Field • Minimum of 5+ years construction industry safety experience on similar projects • an average of at least 24 hours of formal safety training each year for the past 5 years • training for competent person status for at least the following 4 areas of competency: Excavation; Scaffolding; Fall protection; Hazardous energy; Confined space; Health hazard recognition, evaluation and control of chemical, physical and biological agents • Construction Health and Safety Technician Certification EM385-1-1 40-Hr. Safety Certification • Current OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification • Current First Aid & CPR Certification • NFPA 70E certification for flash training • Proficient with Microsoft Office
