📋 Description

• Translate and edit complex documents from English into French related to business law and regulated finance • Ensure terminological accuracy, compliance with legal frameworks, and fidelity to the legal system of each language • Ensure consistency between source and target texts during the editing process • Sign legal opinions as an attorney, certifying the compliance and accuracy of documents • Rigorously follow up on requests, including proactively managing client questions and feedback • Maintain and enhance client-specific terminology databases and style guides • Contribute to the continuous improvement of Apertera AI’s neural machine translation platform • Provide constructive feedback and support the development of team members • Gather and analyze training needs in collaboration with language managers and the Director of Resources • Develop language and technical training programs and materials, including training on the use of Apertera AI tools and platform • Deliver training to internal and external teams • Ensure the quality, effectiveness, and relevance of training programs • Develop continuous improvement plans that promote linguistic excellence

🎯 Requirements

• University degree in law • University degree in English–French translation, specializing in finance, economics, or law • Active member of the Barreau du Québec or the Law Society of Ontario • Member of a recognized professional association, such as OTTIAQ, ATIO, or an equivalent organization for the English–French language combination • Excellent knowledge of the legal and financial sectors • Proficiency with CAT tools, particularly Phrase, and a strong interest in AI applied to translation • Excellent command of French and English, both spoken and written • Demonstrated ability to deliver training and adapt to different learning styles • At least 7 years of experience translating and editing documents related to law • At least 3 years of experience in training and competency development for language teams • Experience in a translation agency or an in-house language department • In-depth knowledge of legal and financial terminology • Strict adherence to client instructions and preferences • Excellent teaching skills and the ability to convey knowledge clearly • Analytical mindset, adaptability, and strong prioritization skills • Thoroughness, attention to detail, organization, and ability to meet deadlines • Autonomy, initiative, and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously • Curiosity about technological advances in language services • Strong team spirit
