âą Review HVAC design drawings, mechanical plans, and specifications to develop hydronic system solutions using Armstrong's portfolio âą Interpret control schematics, plumbing layouts, and P&ID diagrams for product selection and system integration âą Support engineering firms and representative partners with system optimization recommendations âą Provide technical insight on pump control strategies, delta-T optimization, sensor placement, and operating cost improvement âą Ensure designs meet client requirements while improving energy efficiency and sustainability âą Participate in site walk-throughs, customer meetings, and design reviews with sales personnel âą Deliver technical presentations and walkback sessions to consulting engineers and contractors âą Explain complex system interactions and Armstrong product integration into HVAC architectures âą Translate field data and project requirements into design strategies and technical proposals âą Use selection tools to generate proposals, energy models, and quotations âą Assist the Territory Lead with CRM opportunity reviews, sizing validation, controls compatibility, and application viability âą Configure and document proposed systems based on customer specifications and field conditions âą Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering on custom application reviews and edge-case analysis âą Participate in RSEC discussions and alignment meetings across the Americas âą Support special technical projects assigned by management âą Create and refine internal technical materials, FAQs, and best-practice guides
âą College diploma or university degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Technology, or a closely related field âą Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing or mechanical systems design, focused on HVAC hydronics and plumbing applications âą Minimum of 1 year in a customer-oriented technical role, such as internal sales engineering, technical field service, or application support âą Experience interpreting mechanical drawings, control schematics, and hydronic system documentation âą Ability to read and analyze control schematics, plumbing risers, and hydronic layouts âą Understanding of district energy applications and central plant systems, including variable-speed pumping, thermal storage, heat exchangers, and control loops âą Familiarity with HVAC energy strategies such as ASHRAE 36, reset schedules, delta-T management, and decoupling techniques âą Proficiency with selection software tools and Microsoft Office âą Strong written and verbal communication skills âą Ability to work independently on complex engineering problems and contribute to cross-functional teams âą Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and project follow-through âą Ability to support conversations with engineers and contractors and adapt communication style to the audience
