📋 Description

• Provide cross-coverage and high-level CDI support across Ascension's multi-market system • Cover temporary staffing gaps due to PTO, medical leave, vacancies, and fluctuating census • Manage high-complexity cases • Lead key initiatives and serve as a subject matter expert and mentor within CDI departments • Apply CDI practices and coding guidelines to facilitate complete and accurate medical record documentation • Collaborate with providers • Adapt to varied facility workflows, EHRs, and service lines with minimal training • Support new CDS onboarding, short-term training, and regional initiatives when not deployed for coverage • Quickly acclimate to local workflows, Epic and Cerner EHRs, and 3M, Iodine, and Nuance CDI software

🎯 Requirements

• Clinical Documentation Prof. credentialed from the Association of Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date • Must be certified in CCDS (Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist) • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 1 year of experience OR 5 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience • 3+ years of clinical documentation, coding, DRG, and strong CDI standards preferred • Expertise in SOI/ROM, MCC/CC, mortality reviews, and quality indicator alignment (PSI, HAC) • Proficiency with multiple CDI tools, including CDE One and Cerner preferred • Strong technical skills in navigating multiple EHRs, including Epic and Cerner • Proficiency with remote platforms • 2 years of leadership or management experience preferred
