• Responsible for design, layout, installation, and maintenance of piping systems and associated supports. • Supports the design and analysis of mechanical components, systems and piping designs for nuclear and commercial projects. • Creates detailed engineering drawings, P&IDs, and 3D models for piping routes, equipment, placement, and plant setup. • Performs a variety of engineering calculations using traditional engineering methods and applicable design codes and regulatory requirements. • Specifies piping materials, fittings, valves, and support systems and performs stress analysis using software to ensure structural integrity. • Prepares technical specifications, requisitions, and vendor recommendations for piping components. • Reviews of technical documents and drawings. • Assists in routine development, management and implementation of engineering analysis, activities and programs to identify and resolve routine equipment and system problems. • Works in multi-discipline teams on project-based work and ensures integration of design across multiple disciplines. • Conducts mentoring and quality reviews of the work of junior colleagues when needed. • Site experience in construction or commissioning of plant mechanical systems for nuclear or other heavy industries would be an asset.
• Bachelor's degree required in Mechanical Engineering or related technical or Engineering Field. • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. • Experience in nuclear industry preferred. • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals. • Knowledge of industry codes and regulations. • Able to complete complex technical work with limited supervision. • Higher-level knowledge and application of skills of fundamental principles and concepts related to piping and mechanical design. • Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks. • Effective written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines. • Must be eligible to work under 10 CFR Part 810. • Must be a U.S. citizen in order to be considered.
