• Lead Axia Women’s Health’s coding and auditing function • Develop and oversee coding processes that support providers, best practices, efficiency, quality outcomes, and maximized revenue • Ensure the external coding vendor operates efficiently and effectively, including staffing, processes, and supporting systems • Design and streamline coding and compliance processes with the Manager of Coding, Axia Compliance Officer, and other coding professionals • Translate and communicate audit findings to educate providers and care centers • Train care centers on documentation rules and requirements • Monitor CMS rules and guidelines and communicate changes to the coding and auditing team • Establish and manage KPI reporting for the coding team and review KPIs daily • Analyze outstanding accounts receivable, denials, and unbilled claims related to coding operations and resolve issues • Identify denial trends and manage future denials • Research and analyze compliance issues using industry publications, the internet, and the Federal Register • Deliver reports to leadership and communicate issue resolutions and responses • Partner with physicians, advanced practice providers, care center managers, RCM, regional operations, and third-party coding/billing vendors • Address staff performance and conduct, including counseling, correction, and discipline as appropriate • Mentor staff and provide constructive performance feedback • Monitor compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, Axia’s Integrity and Compliance Program, Code of Conduct, and other policies • Oversee coding personnel
• 8–10 years of relevant experience required • Minimum 5 years’ experience in billing/coding management • CPC through AAPC or CCS-P through AHIMA required • Expert knowledge of physician billing, revenue cycle management, medical coding, and compliance • Strong knowledge of coding guidelines and CMS guidelines, rules, and regulations • Ability to investigate compliance rules • Ability to explain rules and requirements to coders, physicians, advanced practice providers, and care center personnel • Understanding of value-based care and bundled codes • Strong leadership and ability to delegate and provide direction • Exceptional verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and EMRs • Demonstrated excellent Microsoft Excel skills • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred, or equivalent experience • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis • Must complete employment eligibility verification upon hire
