📋 Description

• Drive end-to-end delivery of data-centric investment solutions from requirements gathering and documentation through data analysis, testing, and implementation • Lead requirements-gathering sessions with investment and business stakeholders • Translate business objectives into BRDs, functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria • Document current- and future-state business processes, data flows, control points, dependencies, and operational procedures • Maintain traceability from business outcomes and requirements through data rules, solution design, testing, defects, implementation evidence, and acceptance • Serve as a subject-matter expert on investment data, including securities, holdings, transactions, performance, benchmarks, and reference data • Develop and maintain source-to-target mappings, data dictionaries, business rules, transformation requirements, and data documentation • Document end-to-end data lineage and support data governance, controls, and auditability • Perform root-cause analysis of data discrepancies, process breaks, and control issues • Analyze, profile, and reconcile data using SQL and Python • Structure data across products, positions, and transactions for reporting and analytics • Rationalize legacy data sources and align them with modern data architecture principles • Plan and coordinate UAT, including test strategy, scenarios, cases, and data, and obtain business sign-off • Validate data outputs, automate validation tests where possible, and manage defects through resolution • Support design, development, and implementation of data, analytics, and reporting solutions • Coordinate release readiness, production deployment, and post-implementation validation • Conduct pre- and post-implementation analyses and monitor solution performance • Design reports, dashboards, and visualizations in Power BI and other visualization tools • Develop training materials and user guides for self-serve analytics • Liaise with investment, operations, risk, compliance, sales, technology, data platform, vendor, and external provider stakeholders • Communicate progress, risks, issues, and recommendations to stakeholders including senior leadership • Work independently and handle non-routine situations

🎯 Requirements

• Typically 7–10 years of relevant experience in business or data analysis, preferably within asset management, investment management, or financial services • Post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience • Strong knowledge of investment data and asset management operations, including securities, holdings, transactions, performance, and benchmark data across asset classes • Experience gathering requirements and producing BRDs, functional specifications, user stories, source-to-target data mappings, and lineage documentation • Experience planning and executing UAT and data validation and supporting solutions through production delivery • Advanced SQL skills for querying, profiling, reconciling, and validating large and complex datasets • Working knowledge of Python, such as pandas, for data analysis, automation, and test validation • Experience with Power BI and other data visualization tools, such as Tableau and Spotfire, to build reports and dashboards • Experience with Snowflake and other cloud data lake and data warehouse platforms, such as Azure Data Lake and Databricks • Familiarity with SAS or WebFOCUS is an asset • Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and data lineage practices • Experience with Agile delivery methods is an asset • Strong verbal and written communication skills for translating between business and technical audiences • Strong collaboration, influence, and stakeholder management skills • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills
