📋 Description

• Ensure funds are properly valued and accounted for through accurate measurement of securities prices and positions • Calculate daily net asset values (NAVs), monitor and post cash flows, and coordinate with custodian banks, prime brokers, and service providers • Lead and develop teams, improve performance, coach employees, and manage performance • Provide strategic input and recommendations to senior leaders on business decisions, strategy, and initiatives • Act as a subject matter expert on regulations, policies, and assigned client relationships • Lead execution of strategic and operational initiatives, change management programs, and operational programs • Ensure accurate and timely NAV and reporting deliverables for assigned clients • Review NAV calculations, transactions, dividends, interest, corporate actions, and trades • Reconcile trades, cash transactions, securities positions, general ledgers, subsidiary ledgers, and bank statements • Prepare account reconciliations, variance analyses, financial reports, draft bills, invoices, audit reports, financial statements, and tax distribution calculations • Enter and verify disbursements and receipts and oversee vendor and foreign affiliate payment routines • Communicate and resolve cash, trade, position, and fund accounting outages with internal and external stakeholders • Review tolerance threshold breaks and assist with tax compliance reporting • Build relationships with stakeholders and serve as a specialist resource to senior leaders

🎯 Requirements

• Typically 7+ years of relevant experience • Post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience • Advanced understanding of the functional area and the market • Seasoned professional with a combination of education, experience, and industry knowledge • Verbal and written communication skills — In-depth / Expert • Analytical and problem-solving skills — In-depth / Expert • Influence skills — In-depth / Expert • Collaboration and team skills with a focus on cross-group collaboration — In-depth / Expert • Ability to manage ambiguity • Data-driven decision-making — In-depth / Expert • Knowledge of securities pricing, positions, fund accounting, and NAV calculation • Experience coordinating with custodian banks, prime brokers, and service providers • Knowledge of regulations, policies, tax compliance reporting, audits, financial statements, and reconciliations • Ability to apply BMO’s Risk Management Framework, Risk Culture, approved Risk Appetite, policies, laws, and regulations
