• Support Class Members in person with information, resources and Claim Form support in a way that feels trauma-informed and culturally safe • Develop relationships with local and surrounding communities, organizations, and community members • Assist claimants in completing claim forms, connecting them with existing mental health, legal, and cultural support services • Participate in training sessions, including e-courses, de-briefings, and self-directed learning classes • Carry out work in a safe manner, following established health and safety protocols, training and instructions • Contribute to a positive safety culture by raising safety concerns and sharing knowledge about risks and solutions
• Strong written and verbal communication skills • Experience working with Indigenous Peoples and communities (three years or more) • Self-identifying as Indigenous is an asset • Ability to work professionally in an Indigenous language is an asset • Strong knowledge of customer relationship management (CRM) systems, Microsoft tools, and similar database platforms is an asset • Strong knowledge and awareness of Indigenous culture, history, the impacts of (intergenerational) trauma and understanding of the governance structure of Indigenous communities • Clear, respectful and professional communication skills in both written and verbal formats • Demonstrated ability to lead administrative work while respecting privacy and confidentiality • Strong ability to follow established policies, procedures and operational guidelines • Ability to travel across Canada (up to 60 % of the role) • Valid driver’s license • Access to a reliable vehicle at the time of hiring and proof of vehicle insurance • Access to a quiet, private workspace with reliable internet • Willingness to learn, try new approaches, and adapt as work evolves
• Starting annual compensation of $60,000-$65,000 • Plus a rewarding benefits package • Candidates living in northern or remote communities may be eligible for a Northern Allowance
