• Provide strategic communications support across oral health, asthma, community health workers, cancer, and community-health alignment programs • Promote community-clinical linkages to prevent and manage asthma, cancer, and oral health • Engage and advance the community health worker workforce and promote community health alignment with community health centers • Implement change practices within health systems to address health inequities • Collect and disseminate surveillance data • Interact with program and evaluation staff to meet Division communications needs • Create and implement communications plans supporting and promoting designated topic areas • Identify key messages, communication channels, and appropriate content while ensuring cultural relevance and suitable literacy levels • Apply a structural analysis of systemic and historical racism and resulting health inequities to communications plans and activities • Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate communications message strategies • Develop printed and online publications, websites, presentations, collateral materials, and digital media content • Collaborate with program teams on message planning, research, development, and delivery • Establish and maintain relationships with partners, contractors, and stakeholders • Ensure consistency across communication channels and compliance with state requirements and guidelines • Attend internal and external meetings as requested • Complete deliverables and required reports within established time frames • Manage project work, quality assurance, and deliverable compliance as needed
• Master’s degree in health communications, public health, or a related field • 2-4 years professional, related experience • Knowledge of behavior change messaging, marketing, and other communications principles, with experience applying these principles • General understanding of and commitment to health equity, including racial equity, and addressing the social determinants of health • Experience developing communications materials and awareness campaigns, including formatting and creating visually appealing materials • Ability to work independently and take direction as part of a team • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and experience working in collaborative team environments • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
