📋 Description

• Conduct benefit verification and complete third-party prior authorizations • Perform reimbursement activities, patient assistance and copay program enrollments • Coordinate refill calls and documented adherence activities • Coordinate dispensing for specialty medications, high-cost prescriptions, and/or infusion medications • Perform patient onboarding, benefit verification, prior authorization, and appeals • Facilitate prescription fulfillment between doctors’ offices and pharmacies • Provide services for ambulatory pharmacies, specialty pharmacies, and/or outpatient infusion centers • Verify pharmacy and medical coverage • Obtain insurance and patient information from patients and providers • Communicate request status with clinic staff, pharmacy/infusion center, and patients • Coordinate, track, and confirm prescription delivery • Use electronic medical record and other systems to retrieve information, communicate status, and document outcomes • Research payer prior authorization and appeals processes • Use workflow management software to document activities • Follow defined policies and procedures and meet productivity and quality expectations • Facilitate enrollment in manufacturer- and foundation-sponsored patient assistance programs • Adapt to changes in payer, pharmacy, and patient assistance program processes • Maintain relationships with clinic staff, pharmacy, and hospital contacts • Provide integrated services to increase prescription capture, improve patient outcomes, and reduce readmissions • Communicate patient and provider feedback to management for process improvement and continuity of care • Provide coverage for clients and patients during onsite resource absences • Perform additional related duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of two (2) years in fields such as Benefit Verification, Prior Authorization, Medical Billing, Medical Office Administration, Social Work, Medical Records, Patient Financial Services, Pharmacy, Nursing or similar vocations • Previous prior authorization experience preferred • Bachelor's degree program preferred • Healthcare certification preferred but not required, such as Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) obtained through PTCB or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Ability to work quickly and accurately under time and volume constraints • Ability to be proactive and tenaciously seek solutions under minimum supervision • Demonstrated competence in Microsoft Excel and Word • Strong interpersonal skills • Ability to resolve issues quickly and creatively • Familiarity with insurance/claims processing, pharmaceutical products, services, software, and drug interactions • Good analytical skills • Ability to deal with stressful situations • Sedentary physical activity requiring reaching, shifting, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, feeling, repetitive motions, talking and hearing • Visual ability for close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and adjusting focus • Ability to stand, walk, or otherwise be mobile • 75% or more time spent looking directly at a computer
