• Manage the day-to-day operations of ClimateWorks’ donor communications function • Supervise the donor communications team, currently two direct reports • Oversee donor-facing products including decks, memos, talking points, stewardship materials, narrative briefs, and tailored two-pagers • Translate organizational and program content into funder-ready products • Build and maintain donor communications messaging frameworks • Manage intake, scoping, workflow, review pathways, and approval processes for donor communications requests • Manage strategic, segmented communications for ClimateWorks’ funder community • Partner with program communications and Philanthropic Partnerships to ensure narrative consistency across funder touchpoints • Oversee list hygiene, audience mapping, and lead triage • Develop and execute individualized stewardship plans and cultivation strategies for priority funders and prospects • Deliver key donor moments and high-impact engagement experiences with Events and Marketing and Communications teams • Provide tailored narratives, talking points, and meeting preparation for leadership and program staff • Develop and execute prospect engagement strategies to expand the philanthropic pipeline • Build activatable prospect campaigns, including peer-to-peer outreach, prospect days, and outreach to philanthropic associations and climate-adjacent funders • Track and report on prospect engagement activity and pipeline development • Assign work, manage team capacity, coach staff, and support career development • Maintain visibility into active donor communications work and timelines • Serve as operational liaison to Philanthropic Partnerships • Coordinate with Partner & Program Communications, Institutional Communications & Public Affairs, Creative Studio, Channels & Operations, Events, and Partnerships • Report to the Director of Partner + Program Communications
• 7+ years of experience in fundraising communications, donor relations, development communications, or a closely related field • At least 2–3 years supervising staff • Deep understanding of how communications supports fundraising, including donor stewardship, cultivation, prospect engagement, and funder-facing product development in a philanthropic or nonprofit context • Ability to translate complex organizational strategies into clear, compelling, funder-ready materials across decks, memos, narratives, talking points, and emails • Strong writing and editorial skills • Experience managing team workflow and capacity, including intake processes, project timelines, and prioritization • Experience with audience segmentation, funder journey mapping, or CRM-informed communications strategies • Advanced analytical and critical thinking skills • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities • Excellent relationship-building skills with fundraising teams, program staff, and leadership • Commitment to a diverse, inclusive, and equitable work environment • Experience at or closely with philanthropic foundations, climate organizations, or mission-driven nonprofits with complex funder ecosystems is desired • Background in prospect research, pipeline development, or prospect engagement strategy is desired • Experience with Salesforce, Account Engagement (Pardot), or similar CRM/marketing automation platforms is desired • Familiarity with the climate philanthropy landscape is desired • Experience in a matrixed environment is desired • Proficiency with Asana, Google Workspace, and presentation software is desired
