📋 Description

• Build and run production pipelines in Databricks, including Lakeflow, Jobs, and dbt • Ingest customer files through to tables ready for models and reporting • Lead Redshift-to-Databricks migration phases • Land source tables, move product analytics onto the lakehouse, and retire old warehouses • Own replication and ingestion from production databases using AWS DMS, Databricks Lakeflow Connect, and Fivetran • Implement data residency and PII handling across multiple environments • Set data contracts with internal teams and external ML partners • Provide product teams with effort estimates and trade-offs and challenge scope when needed • Monitor pipeline health, data quality, and Databricks cost • Participate in Data’s on-call rotation • Document runbooks, lineage, and design decisions • Contribute to evolving AI practices across Engineering

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years in data engineering, including 2+ years running Databricks in production • Experience with Databricks Delta, Jobs, DLT/Lakeflow, and Unity Catalog • Strong Python, SQL, and dbt skills • Experience replicating from operational databases using CDC or events • Experience ingesting messy files • Involvement in at least one warehouse or lakehouse migration • Comfortable with AWS data services • Experience handling PII or regulated data; financial services experience ideal • Curiosity for innovation and new technology, particularly AI and large language models • Hands-on use of AI coding agents such as Claude Code or similar • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code such as Terraform or DAB • Experience with LookML or embedded Looker • Experience managing pipelines feeding forecasting or ML models • Ability to work autonomously and prioritize initiatives • Proven ability to take initiative, innovate, and lead projects
