• Provide malaria technical advice, guidance and support on program design and implementation issues • Support Country Program teams in delivering high-quality malaria programming to poor and vulnerable populations • Contribute to agency-wide malaria strategies, standards, tools and best practices • Help ensure cross-sectoral integration of gender, protection mainstreaming and disaster risk reduction • Provide technical solutions remotely and on-site for strategic planning, program design, implementation standards, partnership principles, tools and monitoring and evaluation • Provide overall technical backstopping for the project across several countries where CRS leads activities, in partnership with PATH • Maintain current technical knowledge on malaria and manage introduction and scale-up of best practices and technical interventions • Contribute to capacity strengthening through learning and training strategies, curricula, workshops, mentoring and coaching • Support knowledge management and learning by collecting and analyzing program data, evaluating activities, measuring impact, documenting lessons learned and preparing research and internal reports • Establish and maintain relationships with donors, PATH, national malaria programs, peer organizations, research institutions and other partners • Participate in malaria programming forums to collect and share best practices • No supervisory responsibilities
• Bachelor’s Degree required • Minimum of eight years relevant international working experience in an advisory or management role with progressive responsibilities • Minimum of three years working on programming interventions in malaria • Previous experience providing technical assistance is required • Experience developing successful proposals for external donor funding is required • Demonstrated application of technical principles and concepts in malaria programming • General knowledge of related disciplines, such as other MNCH programs • Proficient in MS Office packages, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint • Proficient in web conferencing applications, information and budget management systems, and knowledge-sharing networks • Experience in business development, project design and proposal development in malaria, including technical writing • Experience in mentoring, coaching, facilitation and training using adult learning principles and practices • Experience with program monitoring and evaluation, data collection tools and methodologies, data analysis and data presentation • Experience networking and managing relationships with donors, national malaria programs, peer organizations and faith-based civil society partners • Understanding of partnership principles • Strong strategic, analytical, problem-solving and systems thinking skills • Strong written and oral communication skills • Strong presentation, facilitation, training, mentoring and coaching skills • Proactive, resourceful and results-oriented • Required languages: English and French • Must be willing and able to travel up to 30% • Ability to legally work where the position is performed • Pre-employment medical clearance required for positions requiring residence or frequent travel outside a home country • Preferred: Master's Degree in Public Health, Health Systems, Medical Sciences or related area
