📋 Description

• Build and operate an enterprise-grade API platform integrating with API gateways such as APIGEE, APIM, and Kong • Enable teams across CVS Health to deliver customer experiences through APIs at Fortune 6 scale • Set team OKRs and ensure their health using KPIs • Partner with engineering, business, and product leaders to build strategy and roadmap • Collaborate across CVS Digital to align the API platform with engineers’ needs • Evaluate emerging technologies that improve performance, delivery, and developer experience • Hire and retain high-performing technical engineers • Lead front-end and backend engineers building the API platform • Participate in design and architecture for new capabilities across teams • Provide technical leadership, direction, clarity, and vision • Advocate for engineering best practices including test coverage, clean code, security, and accessibility • Coach and mentor team members and strengthen engineering culture • Support engineers’ mental health, well-being, and career growth

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of leadership experience, directly managing individual contributors • 7+ years of experience building enterprise grade applications at scale • 5+ years of experience with JavaScript • 3+ years of experience with TypeScript and modern Node.js backend development • Experience with API gateway technologies such as Kong, Apigee, or Azure API Management • Experience with distributed workflows, asynchronous orchestration, or job-processing systems such as Temporal or similar platforms • Preferred: Experience with Node.js • Preferred: Experience building accessible web applications • Preferred: Exposure to GraphQL and RESTful web services • Preferred: Experience working with a source versioning tool, such as Git • Preferred: Experience with testing and proficiency with a testing framework (e.g., Jest, RTL, Cypress, Playwright) • Preferred: Exposure to DevOps tools, processes, and culture (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, GHA, etc.) • Preferred: Experience working on a project using mature CI/CD practices • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; high school diploma plus 4 years relevant work experience
