📋 Description

• Evolve the Find Care experience at Aetna (CVS Health) • Lead development and optimization of advanced search algorithms and systems using technologies such as Elastic/OpenSearch • Apply machine learning techniques, including classification and ranking models, to improve search relevance • Explore and integrate Agentic Solutions, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and Large Language Models (LLMs) • Analyze search queries, user behavior, and search performance metrics to identify improvements • Partner with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions • Use algorithms and predictive models to investigate search problems, detect patterns, and recommend data-driven solutions • Use Python to explore, examine, and interpret large volumes of search data • Communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences • Guide teams building search capabilities that help members discover providers and care options

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with significant depth in search or data-intensive systems • 3+ years of experience with Information Retrieval concepts, including inverted indexes, scoring models, and relevance tuning • 3+ years of experience with query understanding, relevancy, and ranking • Demonstrated execution excellence from design through production support • Growth mindset with a track record of mentoring engineers and raising technical standards • Experience in AI driven coding including Claude Code and Copilot • Experience with search platforms: OpenSearch, Elasticsearch, and/or Solr • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience • High school diploma plus 4 years of relevant work experience as an alternative educational pathway • Ability to work 40 hours per week
