📋 Description

• Assess asset reliability and mechanical integrity practices across batch, continuous, and specialty chemical operations • Benchmark site performance against industry best practices and peer operations • Develop reliability excellence roadmaps prioritized by risk, value, and implementation ease • Provide data-driven insights on reliability risks, cost drivers, and asset performance • Lead or support asset criticality, failure mode management, and risk-based maintenance initiatives • Identify and eliminate chronic equipment issues and systemic causes of unplanned downtime • Align operating discipline, maintenance practices, and execution routines to improve plant stability and asset life • Translate recommendations into site-ready actions with ownership and timelines • Review and strengthen Mechanical Integrity and reliability-related PSM elements, including inspection regimes, MOC, PSSR, and asset risk management • Conduct field audits, maintenance walkdowns, and failure investigations • Provide independent safety and compliance assurance • Support corrective and preventative action closure and sustainability • Assess reliability data quality across CMMS/EAM, downtime systems, and condition monitoring tools • Define reliability KPIs, dashboards, and governance routines • Quantify and track benefits from reliability initiatives • Report progress and impact to site and corporate leadership • Review and optimize maintenance strategies, planning, and scheduling • Support turnaround and shutdown assessments, readiness reviews, scope optimization, and post-event learning • Embed lessons learned into standard work and future maintenance strategies • Assess and deploy digital and AI-enabled reliability tools • Transfer knowledge through coaching, training, and standard work development • Build trusted client relationships through objective assessment, technical credibility, and hands-on implementation support

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or a closely related field • CMRP or CRL certification preferred • Minimum 8+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing, petrochemical, specialty chemical, or refining environments • Strong emphasis on asset reliability, maintenance engineering, or reliability engineering in batch or continuous process environments • Hands-on experience working with operations and maintenance in plant/area engineering, reliability engineering, maintenance leadership, or rotating equipment roles • Knowledge of asset criticality analysis, FMEA, RCFA, preventive and predictive maintenance, and reliability data analysis • Experience with turnarounds, shutdowns, and major maintenance events • Demonstrated ability to improve unplanned downtime, equipment availability, maintenance costs, and MTBF • Track record of measurable improvements in reliability, safety, and cost through maintenance strategies, work management, spare parts optimization, and operations collaboration • Familiarity with PSM requirements and mechanical integrity programs, including MOC, HAZOP/LOPA interfaces, inspection regimes, safe work practices, and asset lifecycle management • Strong knowledge of chemical plant reliability and maintenance practices, including RCM • Working knowledge of chemical processes including reaction, distillation, crystallization, polymerization, separation, drying, and blending • Experience with CMMS/EAM systems such as SAP, IBM Maximo, or Infor/Hexion; condition monitoring; predictive analytics; mobile maintenance; reliability dashboards; and visual asset-performance management • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work independently and within a global, multidisciplinary team • Willingness to travel extensively to client sites
