📋 Description

• Provide guidance and leadership to newer colleagues and/or those with less experience on complex engineering assignments • Survey property, casualty, and liability losses at residential and commercial buildings and loss scenes • Conduct investigations to determine root causes of events and failures • Work with engineers and investigators to produce detailed reports and drawings and outline causes and origins of losses and damages • Develop plans, reports, and drawings to meet client needs and document failure analysis and causation • Provide expert testimony in court and/or depositions • Determine applicable engineering practices, project scopes, timelines, and cost estimates • Document and maintain billable hours on a time-and-expense basis • Collaborate with sales and operations managers, architects, developers, insurance adjusters, claims managers, and attorneys to develop demand for professional services • Collaborate with EFI's national forensic experts on projects • Perform other assigned duties • Support organizational quality programs

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required • Professional Engineering (PE) license required • Eight (8) years of experience or equivalent combination of experience and education required • Two (2) years of engineering experience specifically in failure analysis and forensic engineering • Two (2) years in insurance and/or risk management services industry • Excellent oral and written communication • PC literacy, including Microsoft Office products • Analytical and interpretive skills • Strong organizational skills • Excellent interpersonal skills • Ability to work independently or in a team environment • Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies • Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time • Must be able to kneel, squat or bend • Must be able to work outdoors in hot and/or cold weather conditions • Ability to climb, crawl, stoop, kneel, and reach/work overhead • Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds • Ability to push/pull up to 100 pounds • Ability to drive up to 4 hours per day
