📋 Description

• Conduct daily outside sales calls on existing customers throughout the assigned area • Prospect for viable new commercial accounts and develop awareness of the local market • Present products to builders, developers, designers, contractors, and other sales and installation decision makers • Manage commercial projects from opportunity identification through product selection, specification, order placement, tracking, delivery, installation oversight, punch walk, and claim coordination • Follow up on leads from Dodge, store leads, networking groups, and other sources • Collaborate with PRO Teams to pursue commercial leads passed from store teams • Submit proposals and responses to RFQs and RFPs after obtaining pricing and specifications approval • Coordinate with the Inside Commercial Sales team on key dates to complete sales and satisfy customer requirements • Work with purchasing and inventory teams through the Commercial Support Center to confirm product availability or special purchase orders • Stay current on merchandise training, new products, and product lines • Monitor prospects’ contract calendars and prepare lead-status and other required reports • Participate in trade associations, trade shows, and other promotional efforts • Perform additional similar functions and duties as necessary to achieve business objectives

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent • Bachelor’s degree preferred • 3+ years previous commercial industry sales experience required, preferably within the flooring or building materials industry • Successful track record in an outside sales environment • Familiarity with the local market • Competence working with and managing a customer base through a CRM tool such as Salesforce.com • Experience in RFPs, commercial job bids, and general construction sales • Experience working in a retail environment is a plus • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, including influencing and negotiation skills • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment • Ability to work in an unstructured, unsupervised environment, exercise independent judgment, and demonstrate solid time management and organizational skills • Enjoy prospecting for new accounts • Daily car travel; limited air travel based on customer and/or corporate events
