📋 Description

• Build frontend experiences and backend services for viewing and managing subscriptions, renewing products, configuring auto-renewal, and managing billing accounts • Work on renewals, overages and reconciliations, subscription visibility, and budget and reservation management • Design and build fullstack features across the post-purchase subscription journey • Contribute to technical design and implementation of subscription lifecycle capabilities • Partner with Product and Design to translate requirements into resilient, well-tested solutions • Integrate subscription lifecycle workflows with billing, customer account, and internal admin systems • Write maintainable, well-tested code and follow practices for rollout safety and monitoring • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback • Identify and reduce technical debt and architectural risk • Participate in incident response for subscription and renewal issues • Partner with Sales, Finance, Information Technology, and Support • Report to the Engineering Manager, Purchase

🎯 Requirements

• Professional experience as a fullstack engineer and confidence working across frontend and backend code • Experience with Ruby on Rails and Vue.js • Experience owning technical direction for a product area • Experience building or maintaining transactional or checkout-style flows, ideally in billing, ecommerce, or subscription contexts • Familiarity integrating with third-party billing or customer relationship management systems such as Zuora, Salesforce, or Stripe is a plus, not a requirement • Focus on safe, incremental delivery given the revenue and customer impact of the work • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely about complex technical, architectural, and organizational problems • Written and spoken English proficiency sufficient to collaborate in a remote, largely asynchronous work environment • Alignment with GitLab's values and commitment to working in accordance with them
