📋 Description

• Influence the team roadmap and personal career objectives • Deliver new features and iterate based on results • Drive projects from initial idea through customer operations • Contribute to open-source projects beyond the team’s direct scope • Design, build, operate, and maintain critical systems • Own system reliability, performance, and availability • Participate in follow-the-sun on-call rotations • Take ownership of operated services • Support team members and participate in design discussions • Collaborate with the team and deepen understanding of Grafana Cloud, customers, and a large distributed-system codebase • Write and review pull requests and design documents • Shepherd automated release rollouts • Optimize the efficiency and resilience of processing, storing, and querying metrics

🎯 Requirements

• Solid experience with at least one programming language; Go is used, with Python, C, C++, Rust, or similar experience translating well • Experience leading and delivering projects from requirements gathering through customer-facing product release • Experience developing cloud software or systems engineering experience • Experience with on-call work and the DevOps model • Experience writing clean, robust, performant, maintainable software • Familiarity with observability systems and using metrics, logs, and traces for debugging • Comfort with microservices architecture and distributed systems • Experience and comfort developing with LLMs such as Claude and Codex • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively in a fully remote setup • Experience with Kubernetes preferred as a bonus • Experience with queue systems, such as the Kafka protocol, preferred as a bonus • Grafana and Prometheus operational experience preferred as a bonus • Familiarity with infrastructure as code preferred as a bonus
