📋 Description

• Own and execute full-cycle payroll processing for salaried employees, hourly employees, and contractors • Review and reconcile pre-payroll reports before each run • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies before submission • Process off-cycle payrolls, manual checks, and retroactive adjustments • Manage final pay calculations for terminated employees in compliance with applicable state-law timelines • Serve as the first point of contact for employee payroll inquiries • Resolve issues involving pay stubs, direct deposit, tax withholding, and corrections • Guide employees through payroll self-service features • Manage quarterly 941s, annual W-2s, 1099s, and state/local tax filings and remittances • Configure automated payroll workflows and approval chains • Participate in HR and Finance system implementations, upgrades, and cross-functional initiatives • Document payroll processes, procedures, and internal controls • Coordinate payroll deductions for medical, dental, vision, 401(k), HSA/FSA, and other voluntary benefits • Provide payroll data for budgeting, forecasting, accounting, and financial planning • Communicate with employees, team members, and stakeholders by phone and electronic systems • Travel between work sites or community locations as needed • Follow safety procedures, infection control protocols, and PPE requirements where applicable

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field • 2–5 years of progressive payroll management experience • Experience processing payroll for 200+ employees across multiple states • Required experience with California and Illinois payroll • Minimum 2 years of direct, hands-on experience administering payroll in Rippling or a similar small workforce management platform • Experience with system configuration, pay group management, tax settings, and workflow automation • Advanced skills in payroll reconciliation, VLOOKUP/pivot tables, and data analysis • Understanding of how Rippling connects with benefits carriers, time and attendance systems, and GL platforms • Prior standalone or lead payroll experience preferred • Experience with ADP, Paylocity, Workday, payroll system implementation, transition, and employee system training is a plus • CPP designation preferred; FPC considered • Ability to comply with applicable infection control, PPE, and vaccination requirements associated with the role and work location • Work authorization in the United States is verified through E-Verify
