Hipp Health is an AI-native clinical operations platform for ambulatory therapy practices (starting with Applied Behavior Analysis and expanding into Speech and Occupational Therapy). The platform provides end-to-end workflows including intake (SMS, portal, referral capture), scheduling, clinical care (session notes, treatment plans, clinical decision support), billing and revenue cycle management (claims, denials, payer calls), and compliance/HIPAA security. Hipp automates administrative tasks with agents and AI features to reduce denials, speed payments, streamline scheduling, and improve documentation quality, targeting therapy practices and clinics.

📋 Description

• Design, build, and ship production features across the Hipp platform • Build features used daily by healthcare providers • Work across backend services, APIs, and frontend systems • Design and implement scalable systems for AI-native EMR, billing, and operational workflows • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver user-facing features • Own projects from early design through implementation, testing, launch, and iteration • Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architectural decisions • Improve developer workflows, system reliability, and engineering quality as the platform scales

🎯 Requirements

• 3–4 years of software engineering experience building production applications • Strong foundation in software engineering fundamentals, data structures, and system design • Experience building across the stack, including backend systems and user-facing product features • Proficiency in at least one backend language such as Python, Go, Java, or Node.js / TypeScript • Experience with modern frontend development using React, TypeScript / JavaScript, and APIs • Experience designing and consuming REST APIs or other service interfaces • Strong product sense and ability to translate requirements into reliable, scalable software • Comfort working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with a high degree of ownership • Curiosity, pragmatism, and willingness to learn new tools and technologies quickly • Employer-sponsored work authorization question indicates U.S. work authorization is relevant to application • Nice to have: experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure • Nice to have: familiarity with distributed systems, asynchronous workflows, or microservices • Nice to have: experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or NoSQL systems • Nice to have: startup or small-team engineering experience • Nice to have: exposure to healthcare technology, EMR / EHR systems, billing workflows, or revenue cycle operations • Nice to have: interest in AI systems, workflow automation, or data-intensive products
