📋 Description

• Architect, implement, and operate microservices delivering action and variant metadata • Build context-aware policy and eligibility evaluation services • Develop versioned, read-optimized APIs for high-performance runtime consumption • Ensure high availability, low latency, horizontal scalability, and backward compatibility • Apply best practices for API design, schema evolution, service isolation, and secure integration • Design, deploy, and maintain resilient database schemas for catalogs, versioning, lifecycle management, effective dating, rule bindings, and metadata relationships • Select and operate relational, document, and key-value data stores • Implement schema migration, indexing, query optimization, data integrity, consistency, reliability, auditability, and traceability • Integrate and manage enterprise rules engines for eligibility, constraints, policies, suppressions, cooldowns, exclusions, and allow/deny logic • Ensure rule execution is deterministic, versioned, stateless, and free from unintended side effects • Use AI-powered and agentic tools to generate and refactor schemas and service logic, streamline rule authoring, detect conflicting rules, produce tests, and explore edge scenarios • Develop automated tests for migrations, schema changes, service contracts, API compatibility, rule behavior, precedence, and edge cases • Build observable and resilient platforms with structured logging, metrics, alerting, error handling, fallbacks, and incident management • Support audit and compliance requirements through traceable and reproducible system behavior • Collaborate with platform, data, and machine learning teams • Participate in architecture and design reviews • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical standards and best practices

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum 6 years of experience in backend or platform engineering • Proven ability to build microservices and REST/gRPC APIs • Experience building database-backed systems with complex, evolving schemas • Experience building deterministic rules or policy-driven platforms • Direct experience integrating enterprise rules engines such as Drools, ODM, DMN, OPA, or similar • Strong proficiency in Java and/or Python • Experience using AI-assisted development tools for increased productivity and accuracy • Preferred: experience designing versioned schemas and backward-compatible APIs • Preferred: knowledge of high-throughput, low-latency architectures • Preferred: familiarity with explainability, auditability, and strong compliance requirements • Preferred: background in regulated or high-compliance domains • Home internet with minimum 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload • Dedicated workspace without ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI/HIPAA information
