insightsoftware is a provider of financial and operational reporting software and data analytics solutions for the Office of the CFO. Its cloud-enabled platform and pre-built connectors integrate with major ERPs (Oracle, SAP, Microsoft and 140+ others) to deliver financial reporting, budgeting/planning, consolidation, tax and lease lifecycle management, embedded analytics, and automation tools. The company serves finance, accounting, and operations teams with AI-enabled features, data virtualization, and turnkey templates to accelerate reporting, planning, and compliance.

📋 Description

• Lead, coach, and grow a team of DevOps engineers — hiring, career development, performance, and the everyday work of making a team effective. • Own the reliability, performance, and cost of our AWS and Azure production environments for our SaaS products. • Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to translate roadmap goals into infrastructure and deployment plans. • Set the technical direction for CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, observability, and incident response — and drive continuous improvement across all four. • Mature the team’s ITIL-aligned service management practices, including on-call, change management, and post-incident review. • Partner with Security to embed compliance requirements (SOC 2, SOX, ISO 27001, HIPAA) into how we build and operate. • Own FinOps for your environment: monitor spend, drive cost efficiency, and forecast cloud costs against the roadmap. • Participate in the on-call rotation for mission-critical production services. • Set clear team and individual objectives, and communicate progress, tradeoffs, and decisions clearly to engineers, peers, and executives.

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years in infrastructure, systems, or DevOps engineering, including 4+ years leading or managing engineering teams. • Deep hands-on experience running production workloads on AWS and Azure, including cloud networking (VPC/ VNet, private connectivity, DNS), compute, storage, and identity and access management. • Strong background in Infrastructure as Code — Terraform, with CloudFormation or Bicep a plus — and one or more configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or Salt). • Proven CI/CD pipeline ownership at scale, including Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and modern Git-based workflows (GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket). • Fluency in at least one scripting language for automation (Python preferred; Bash, PowerShell, or Ruby also welcome). • Experience designing and operating for high availability, disaster recovery, and backup and retention on cloud platforms. • Experience with containerized workloads and Kubernetes orchestration (EKS, AKS, or self-managed clusters). • Working experience with modern observability practices — metrics, logs, traces, SLIs and SLOs, and alert design. DataDog experience is a strong plus. • Working knowledge of cloud security fundamentals across AWS and Azure: WAF, threat detection (GuardDuty, Defender for Cloud), vulnerability management, endpoint protection, CSPM tooling, and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, SOX, ISO 27001, CIS, HIPAA). • Excellent written and verbal communication — you can explain a complex tradeoff to an engineer and to a VP in the same day. • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
