📋 Description

• Provide practical legal advice in a fast-paced global operating environment • Identify legal solutions and risks and take ownership of paths to success • Review, negotiate, and advise on commercial agreements, including MSAs, partnership agreements, vendor terms, NDAs, and BAAs • Advise on employment law, litigation risk, and strategy • Draft and update legal templates • Handle law enforcement and regulatory requests, including subpoenas, warrants, and regulatory inquiries • Advise on intellectual property protection and brand enforcement • Build collaborative relationships with developers, product owners, and teams across Jane • Explain legal impacts in practical, real-world terms • Build and scale Legal’s AI environment, including automated intake, contract review, and document management • Mentor team members and colleagues across Jane

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years as a practicing lawyer, including in-house experience advising high-growth technology companies • Called to the bar in Canada; Ontario or British Columbia preferred • US bar admission is an asset • Established expertise in at least 3 of: commercial contracts, privacy regulation, healthcare regulation, litigation risk, employment law, and corporate governance • Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complicated matters clearly • Ability to work with cross-functional teams • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment • Ethical integrity and discretion managing confidential information • Comfortable using AI and technology in legal work, including contract review and legal research • Experience building and owning legal processes and products is ideally preferred • Experience with scaling companies or entrepreneurial environments across multiple jurisdictions is ideally preferred • Must currently live and work in Canada • Must be eligible to work in Canada without employer sponsorship • Unable to support relocation, visa sponsorship, or employment through a third party or employer of record
