📋 Description

• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to translate business problems into technical solutions • Design and code software from business and technical specifications • Maintain quality, security, and adherence to team standards • Perform code reviews, identify defects, and recommend improvements • Investigate and resolve complex and time-sensitive technical issues for supported applications • Contribute to technical and end-user product documentation and design artifacts • Enforce engineering best practices and identify security vulnerabilities • Use AI to accelerate design, development, and documentation while reviewing generated code and assets • Mentor junior engineers on technologies, processes, and industry domain knowledge • Support research and insights solutions that help customers make informed decisions

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience • 6+ years of full-stack software development with both frontend and backend experience • Strong proficiency in Angular, TypeScript, Node.js, Python, and REST API design • Proficiency with relational and non-relational database design and development • Experience working as a member of an Agile/Scrum team • Experience with Git and Git-based CI/CD pipelines • Experience writing incremental unit tests and applying coding best practices • Ability to develop deep domain knowledge in industry-specific business rules and processes • Proficient with AI-assisted development tools such as Copilot, Cursor, and Claude Code • Ability to judge when to accept, edit, or reject AI-generated output • Skilled at providing effective context to produce production-quality results • Experience using AI to accelerate test authoring, documentation, and routine refactoring • Awareness of AI tool limitations, including hallucinated APIs, outdated patterns, security pitfalls, and the need for human verification • Self-directed and detail-oriented, able to take ownership from requirements through release • Strong communication and problem-solving skills • Comfortable working across technical and business stakeholders • Supports the growth of team members through peer reviews, pairing, and mentorship • Legally authorized to work in Canada; JD Power does not provide employment sponsorship • Preferred: Familiarity with market research data collection and processing • Preferred: Cloud platform experience, especially AWS, including Lambda or equivalent serverless computing • Preferred: Hands-on experience with modern cloud data platforms such as Snowflake or Databricks • Preferred: Familiarity with secure coding practices and OWASP Top 10 • Preferred: Experience building software in Agentic fashion
