📋 Description

• Review and analyze accounts and/or credit balance reports from insurance carriers and patients • Review explanations of benefits and contact insurance carriers for additional information • Communicate with insurance carriers via phone, email and insurance websites • Resolve patient and insurance credit balance refunds • Research and resolve unapplied cash activity accounts • Document requests and concerns received by mail, email, telephone, written correspondence or in person on patient accounts • Respond to insurance company and patient refund requests within 30 days of receipt • Identify the originating cause of refund needs and compile recurring-issue reports for management • Correct errors in the calculation and posting of insurance contractual adjustments • Maintain confidentiality of protected health information (PHI) • Perform job functions consistently with MGRI expectations, mission and values • Adhere to MGRI policies and procedures

🎯 Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent (GED) required • Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or another related field preferred • Experience analyzing explanations of benefits (EOBs) from various insurance companies/payers • One year of experience in insurance billing/insurance follow up for Medicare, Medicaid and commercial payers required • Medical terminology knowledge preferred • Knowledge of CPT / ICD-10 coding • Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship • Ability to work Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week, 8am-5pm in your time zone
