📋 Description

• Process, rate where applicable, and release client shipments accurately and on time • Create customs entries by reviewing shipment documentation and selecting appropriate client records, vendors, keywords, and HS codes • Enter shipment information for release, rating, and billing, ensuring mandatory fields are complete and accurate • Determine correct value for duty and tariff treatment from invoice details and terms of sale • Contact analysts or client service teams for missing documentation, information, or release instructions • Verify documentation for release conditions, compliance, rating compliance, and free trade certificates • Follow SOPs, ESPs, business rules, and special client instructions • Identify outdated procedures and recommend changes to improve efficiency and client service • Research and respond professionally to Call Center information requests by phone or email • Prioritize work according to client and customs requirements and applicable standards • Escalate two-step release requirements and authorization or release issues to the appropriate analyst, specialist, or supervisor • Update, approve, and release billing information as required • Assist with billing and ASR data entry where required • Participate in the day-to-day operation of Release Operations • Use available system automation tools to support release processing • Perform other related duties assigned by management • Adhere to established policies and procedures

🎯 Requirements

• High School/GED or equivalent required • Associate degree or post-secondary education preferred • No experience required • Working toward or successful completion of the Certified Customs Specialists (CCS) designation through CSCB or NCBFAA is required if not already obtained • Successful completion of the CCS examination is mandatory for further advancement • Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills • Client-service orientation and interpersonal skills with internal and external clients and coworkers • Ability to handle large volumes and meet tight deadlines • Strong attention to detail, organization, completeness, and accuracy • Good analytical and problem-solving ability • Ability to make decisions and recommendations within authorized limitations • Excellent time management skills • Ability to present a professional image • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel • Ability to use a personal computer and common business machines/software
