LOVB Minnesota is the Minnesota club and market presence of LOVB (League One Volleyball), a national volleyball organization that operates junior clubs, youth tournaments, and a professional pro league launched in 2025. LOVB Minnesota kicked off its inaugural season with a roster combining Minnesota standouts and international players; it sits within a larger network that runs 90 clubs, 105 locations, training centers, thousands of teams, players, and coaches. The LOVB organization also operates a foundation to increase access to volleyball, sells tickets and merchandise, and produces media/insider content for fans.

📋 Description

• Oversee all club membership dues, revenue, and related systems for accuracy and compliance with US GAAP • Provide support to the accounting team • Participate deeply in monthly revenue reconciliations and related systems • Prepare month-end reporting for upper management • Own the revenue recognition process across 80+ clubs and various registration systems • Maintain revenue accounting operations and standard operating procedures for risk identification and audit readiness • Collaborate with Regional Leads and Club Directors regarding revenue registration program details • Manage and mentor a staff accountant • Serve as revenue subject matter expert for M&A targets through onboarding • Record monthly revenue across all registration platforms • Reconcile accounts receivable and deferred revenue balances • Review the P&L impact of registrations • Work with Accounting, Operations, and FP&A teams on revenue-related questions after monthly financial statements are released • Build efficiencies through system automation and integrations • Monitor revenue systems and optimize data flow • Test the revenue accounting system for accuracy, data integrity, and compliance with accounting standards • Support annual external audits • Identify process improvements to scale and automate manual procedures • Assist with ad-hoc special projects and analyses

🎯 Requirements

• Deep knowledge of US GAAP (ASC 606) revenue recognition principles • Experience with GL account reconciliations and workpapers • Skilled in assessing revenue systems work/data flow • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel • Knowledge of internal controls • Accounting experience in a start-up environment • Ability to work from home successfully • Bachelor’s Degree • 7+ years in a similar position • Experience in the sports industry, including registration systems preferred • Management experience • NetSuite experience • Ability to operate a computer and use a keyboard, mouse, and video conferencing tools • Ability to clearly communicate via video, phone, and written channels • Occasional travel may be required for site visits and events
