📋 Description

• Own the end-to-end Mesh experience across the consumer app and every merchant surface, including first impressions, failure states, error recovery, and support handoffs • Own difficult design problems hands-on, including mental models, standardization versus customization, shipping decisions, deposits, swaps, bridging, fiat on-ramps, and failure recovery • Serve as the tiebreaker on experience questions, spending approximately half of the time on design execution • Manage, coach, and grow current designers and hire as the team scales • Define and evolve Mesh’s design tools, workflows, and prototype-to-specification practices for the AI era • Represent design at the executive table and bring evidence-backed positions to roadmap and customer decisions with the CEO, CTO, and SVP Product

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years in product design • 3+ years leading designers while staying hands-on • Shipped consumer products at scale and can show the work • Track record designing for complex, high-stakes systems where users care when things fail, such as money movement, health, or infrastructure • First-principles thinking and ability to originate conceptual models • Experience changing roadmap direction with design arguments in rooms with executives and engineering leaders • Aggressive use of AI in design practice and willingness to rethink manual design work • Payments or fintech experience is a plus, not a requirement
