📋 Description

• Own the technical strategy, architecture and roadmap for the Field Verification platform • Move the platform from keep-the-lights-on operation to prioritised development • Lead and grow the existing cross-functional team and build the organisation as scope expands • Build trip and route optimisation, task allocation and capacity management for field officers • Own APIs, webhooks and back office integrations used by other business units • Deliver a native mobile experience for field officers • Ensure verification data is structured, auditable and suitable for compliance scrutiny • Build the platform for multi-country expansion • Partner with Product and onboarding, loans, compliance and fraud business units • Define architecture standards, engineering processes and quality metrics • Hire and develop engineers and Engineering Managers

🎯 Requirements

• Built systems personally and progressed from engineering into leadership • Capability across backend, web and mobile disciplines • Experience building platforms serving multiple user groups and internal business units • 10+ years of overall software engineering experience • Substantial hands-on production engineering experience with strong backend depth • At least 5 years of engineering leadership, including managing Engineering Managers • Java and Spring Boot experience • Strong collaboration with Product and business stakeholders • Experience with location and geospatial data, including map integrations, is a strong plus • Experience with route, trip or delivery optimisation is a strong plus • Experience building compliance-focused systems is a strong plus • Experience with identity, KYC or verification platforms is a plus, not a requirement
