📋 Description

• Design and implement radio networks, including infrastructure, subscribers, mobile backhaul, WAN, and CEN networks • Interact with customers and consultants through design reviews, witnessed staging and acceptance testing, coverage acceptance testing, live system upgrades, and troubleshooting • Lead technical aspects of assigned projects through system acceptance • Build, configure, and acceptance-test systems in lab staging and field environments • Perform radio coverage testing, frequency analysis, and interference mitigation • Manage radio system licensing, including FCC/Industry Canada licensing • Prepare system fleetmaps, encryption schemas, and radio programming templates • Execute live system cutovers and upgrades • Complete system documentation • Create design documents and drawings for project teams covering system construction and configuration • Lead customer-facing meetings and collaborate with project managers, systems engineers, system technologists, construction managers, customer service managers, customers, and third-party service professionals • Support multiple concurrent projects and adjust priorities as needed • Configure and troubleshoot applications and operating systems on IP network devices, servers, and virtualization platforms • Debug software installations, review log files, and work with development engineers to resolve issues

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering or technical discipline and 3+ years of engineering or technical experience OR 4-7 years of engineering or technical experience • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required • Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position • 25-50% travel • Knowledge of Radio Frequency Engineering principles • Knowledge of Land / Mobile Radio Engineering principles • Knowledge of wireless and wireline communications systems • Knowledge of RFDS principles, including antenna and cable selection, transmit combiners, receive multi-couplers, and lightning protection systems • Knowledge of P25 Land Mobile Radio terminology and two-way subscriber radio provisioning methods • Experience with Motorola ASTRO 25 architecture is a plus • Knowledge of construction of remote communication sites • Knowledge of Fortinet and Juniper firewalls, Nokia 7705 series routers, Juniper SRX/MX (Junos) series routers, HP/Aruba and Juniper switches • Knowledge of SSH, SCP, SFTP, and RDP • Knowledge of point-to-point Microwave systems and Microwave RF & Network design • Knowledge of FCC licensing and frequency search • Knowledge of software application integration, API concepts, computer operating systems, and the OSI model • Knowledge of OSPF, ISIS, BGP, MPLS, SIP, RTP, SNMP, NAT, routers, switches, and stateful packet firewalls • Knowledge of fiber, copper, and microwave connectivity • Familiarity with Microsoft, Google, and other office productivity/drawing software packages • Excellent troubleshooting, critical thinking, analytical, communication, and technical writing skills • Ability to work remotely with no local supervision, lead customer-facing meetings, collaborate with colleagues, customers, and third-party service professionals, and change priorities with little notice • Ability to work on multiple concurrent projects and balance priorities • Ability to learn company-supplied software systems and tools for IP networking, radio coverage modeling, RF components and systems, applications, operating systems, virtualization platforms, software installation debugging, and log-file analysis • GROL, Amateur Radio Operator License, or equivalent experience is desired • CompTIA A+, Network+, and Security+ certifications are desired
