📋 Description

• Drive initiatives to deliver high-quality, highly available, monitored, and maintainable software to users • Help the team navigate trade-offs and align across a portfolio of browser user experiences • Communicate team goals, project scope and risks, and own delivery on clear timelines • Identify, build, and iterate on engineering processes for a high-performing team • Conduct regular 1-1s covering technical work and professional development, and provide performance feedback • Support and empower developers throughout the developer lifecycle • Create an inclusive environment that engages and challenges team members • Collaborate with Product, UX, QA, Operations, and Data Science teams

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years leading engineers in software development environments and across multiple distributed teams • Software engineering background enabling technical decisions and collaboration with engineers at all seniority levels • Experience leading multiple concurrent projects • Experience with frontend platform initiatives such as design systems and frontend architectural improvements • Track record delivering front-end experiences for user-facing products • Hands-on experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS • Proven record leading and shipping sophisticated user-facing experiences on time using data to inform timelines • Strong communication and relationship-building skills • Ability to resolve problems, manage risk, lead change, and facilitate collaborative decision-making • Experience communicating with senior leadership and advocating for engineering priorities • Desire to grow as a manager and develop others • Ability to hire, mentor, empower, develop, and delegate to geographically distributed team members • Commitment to Mozilla’s values: welcoming differences, being relationship-minded, practicing responsible participation, and having grit • Bonus: fostering AI use in frontend engineering teams • Bonus: experience working in open-source environments
