📋 Description

• Partner with the Mission Architecture team to develop mission concepts, run architecture trade studies, and shape technical baselines for prospective missions and proposals • Develop and maintain mission-level system models covering architecture, requirements, interfaces, and behavior • Serve as ultimate technical authority for a designated mission and lead conceptualization, design, development, and critical technical trades • Tailor and implement the Muon mission design process • Translate customer objectives and stakeholder needs into clear, verifiable technical requirements • Serve as primary technical point of contact for customers, partners, and internal stakeholders • Manage requirements traceability, verification, and validation • Define mission CONOPS and manage subsystem budgets including power, data, mass, and pointing/stability • Identify and mitigate mission risks and communicate impacts • Assess and coordinate cross-disciplinary design changes throughout the program lifecycle • Lead design, test readiness, and flight readiness reviews • Monitor on-orbit spacecraft and data pipelines to ensure mission success and customer requirements are met • Provide technical direction and foster collaboration across systems, hardware, software, data, ground segment, and operations teams • Serve as Mission Lead Systems Engineer for one mission while supporting other Muon missions • Improve engineering processes, tools, and methodologies for mission development and operations

🎯 Requirements

• B.S. or higher degree in an engineering field • 10+ years of experience in complex systems, mission architecture, and/or spacecraft design • High-rigor development experience for government and/or demanding commercial customers • Experience as a technical lead, such as Chief Engineer or Lead Systems Engineer, on at least one complex system design • Experience with major space programs for USG, DoD, IC, and/or commercial customers • Experience with USG/IC acquisition programs, space systems development standards, and mission assurance standards • Strong understanding of USG/IC contracts and their artifacts • Experience supporting proposal development, including RFI/RFP responses, for government contracts • Extensive experience in system modeling, systems analysis, and simulations • Proven history of system integration and delivery of complex systems • Experience in formal requirements management for a multidisciplinary project • Demonstrated project management skills and ability to collaborate with engineering disciplines • Excellent communication, presentation, and coordination skills • Ability to rapidly change roles and responsibilities in a fast-paced work environment • Active TS/SCI security clearance • Export-controlled information access eligibility under U.S. Government regulations: U.S. person, eligible without export authorization, or eligible and reasonably likely to obtain authorization
