📋 Description

• Conduct and apply cutting-edge research in AI and natural language processing to solve real-world problems • Architect and implement systems combining symbolic and numerical/data-driven techniques • Provide technical leadership in bridging research and production of novel AI agents • Work with project leadership across functional domains to understand product vision • Translate customer requirements into technical milestones • Decide when to deploy commercial solutions, customize open-source solutions, or initiate greenfield applied science research based on product needs • Lead by example and amplify team capabilities through coaching and mentorship • Establish technical best practices • Foster high-trust, high-performance collaborative attitudes and practices • Communicate across functional teams • Ensure architectural choices are documented throughout planning and implementation

🎯 Requirements

• Graduate degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent deep technical experience • Proven experience as an AI Engineer or Applied Research Engineer in a fast-paced environment • Experience in complex multidisciplinary industries such as robotics, smart grids, precision agriculture, game development, or aerospace highly valued • Fluency with Git and the Unix shell • Ability to work across multiple programming languages, ideally including Python, C++, or C# • Deep understanding of integrating AI agents into production software, including API design, message brokers, containerization, and compute and memory budgeting • Experience building and debugging stochastic AI systems, including symbolic AI, procedural generative models, logic programming, and natural language processing • Strong mathematical background in logic, linear algebra, probability, and statistics • ML-adjacent experience sufficient to understand model constraints, data requirements, and the state of the art • Preferred prior experience with modern C++ • Effective collaboration and ability to work closely with a founding team • High attention to detail and ability to meet key R&D milestones • High attention to detail regarding system stability and interoperability
