📋 Description

• Define and evolve the security architecture of the full compute stack, from FPGA, BIOS/UEFI, and BMC hardware interfaces through FreeBSD and Linux operating systems • Implement security enhancements through kernel and user-space development, configuration changes, TPMs, and hardware-based security features • Drive platform integrity initiatives including measured/secure boot and improved BMC access controls and auditability • Analyze and triage system-level security bugs, including hardware/GPU and OS isolation issues • Provide appliance security expertise during incident response • Partner with stakeholders to build secure architecture for binary ingestion and execution • Develop automated systems and low-level tooling for vulnerability research and to reduce manual security overhead in build, test, and release workflows • Act as a security liaison between Open Connect and other organizations, silicon/firmware vendors, OS communities, and disclosure partners • Learn and adapt to new architectures and features

🎯 Requirements

• Proven track record of architecting and implementing security features that meaningfully improve system security • Deep expertise in low-level systems and hardware security across kernels, firmware, BMC, BIOS/UEFI, and FPGA • Experience using containers or virtual machines to enhance security • Success partnering cross-functionally to improve security posture • Experience using AI agents to automate security research • Ability to define and self-manage cross-functional projects driven by ambiguous questions • Ability to translate business and product goals into security requirements, technical design, and implementation • Self-starter mindset, curiosity, and willingness to ask questions • Quick learner excited about new technologies • Thoughtful collaboration and ownership of projects from conception to production • Preferred: security research experience with published materials • Preferred: penetration testing experience identifying meaningful improvement opportunities and security gaps • Preferred: kernel development experience • Preferred: experience with TPMs/HSMs, trusted execution environments, and other hardware features • Preferred: measured/secure boot and hardware roots of trust experience • Preferred: highly distributed systems and fuzzing experience • Preferred: FreeBSD and Linux security experience, with familiarity with GPU/virtualization isolation • Preferred: C, Golang, and Python experience
