📋 Description

• Work collaboratively on an agile team to ship software incrementally with frequent customer feedback • Design, develop, and deploy Java/Kotlin backend services processing high-volume telemetry and alerting workloads • Collaborate with product managers and engineers specializing in data streaming, infrastructure, design, UIs, and customer-facing APIs • Implement new Alerting features across the pipeline • Reduce technical debt and retire old architecture • Advocate for architecture improvements and assess tradeoffs • Deploy code to customers multiple times per day • Share accountability for software reliability and security • Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code • Participate in peer code reviews and contribute to technical documentation • Submit well-contextualized PRs to other teams’ codebases

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of professional backend software engineering experience, preferably in a SaaS or product-based environment • Strong proficiency in Java and willingness to use Kotlin • Solid grasp of object-oriented programming principles, RESTful APIs, and multithreaded programming • Experience building multithreaded Java services and shipping reliable, high-throughput production services • Experience with relational databases, including complex SQL, optimization, pagination, partitioning, and scaling • Experience with distributed systems and writing code and queries that perform at scale • Experience delivering APIs consumed by internal and/or external customers • Demonstrated empathy for end users and customer impact awareness • Experience working in a rapidly changing agile environment • Strong interpersonal skills, consensus-building ability, leading by example, persistence, and tenacity • Visa sponsorship is not available • Ability to verify identity and eligibility to work • Ability to complete employment eligibility verification • Ability to pass a criminal background check
