πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Support delivery of OSCIA programming across multiple counties and districts β€’ Conduct virtual and in-person workshops, including logistics, delivery, reporting, and administration β€’ Collaborate with Technical Advisors to co-deliver workshops β€’ Promote OSCIA cost-share opportunities and assist with research initiatives through public engagement β€’ Liaise with farmers by phone, email, and in person regarding cost-share applications and claims β€’ Conduct on-site or virtual inspections of approved cost-share projects β€’ Assist with information sessions about funding opportunities and program modifications β€’ Provide accurate information aligned with procedures and funding guidelines β€’ Identify efficiencies, share field insights, and incorporate client feedback to improve programs β€’ Participate in agricultural events, producer meetings, conferences, workshops, and networking opportunities β€’ Represent OSCIA in sustainable agriculture programming and knowledge transfer β€’ Establish and maintain relationships with farm organizations, agri-businesses, and partners β€’ Maintain confidentiality and data security across filing systems β€’ Participate in team meetings, planning sessions, and staff training β€’ Contribute to program messaging and outreach strategies β€’ Track and report client feedback β€’ Travel within the assigned district and occasionally outside the region for support, training, or events β€’ Prioritize seasonal workloads according to farmer schedules and program timelines β€’ Track workshop delivery, project support, reporting compliance, stakeholder engagement, and process improvements

🎯 Requirements

β€’ Post-secondary education in agriculture, environmental sciences, or a related discipline; equivalent work experience considered β€’ Strong understanding of Ontario agriculture, including environmental and economic farm sustainability, biosecurity, soil health, water quality, and best management practices β€’ Demonstrated experience facilitating adult education sessions or agricultural workshops β€’ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when working with farming audiences β€’ Customer service experience supporting producers or agricultural clients β€’ Ability to engage farm businesses and encourage active participation in programs β€’ Strong administrative, coordination, and organizational skills β€’ Ability to adapt and quickly learn new concepts β€’ Skilled in using a wide range of computer applications and technology β€’ Valid Ontario Class G driver’s license required β€’ Familiarity with agricultural funding programs and sustainability practices β€’ Knowledge of rural community dynamics and Ontario farm operations β€’ Strong presentation and facilitation skills for adult learning β€’ Computer literacy and comfort with virtual platforms and digital tools β€’ Excellent time management and administrative tracking β€’ Ability to work in team and independent environments while managing a flexible schedule β€’ Ability to respond to farmer needs and prioritize seasonal workloads β€’ Reliable transportation required β€’ Dependable, high-speed internet connection for virtual meetings and online collaboration β€’ Ability to work outside standard business hours, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends β€’ Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally β€’ Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality
