📋 Description

• Ruby on Rails Leadership: Serve as the organization’s foremost expert in Ruby on Rails, bringing the latest best practices, patterns, and innovations to our core web platform. • Architectural Strategy: Define and drive the technical architecture for our web platform, focusing on modularity, scalability, and maintainability using modern Rails patterns and tools. • Modernization & Innovation: Identify opportunities to evolve our platform architecture, leveraging the latest Rails features, gems, and community standards to improve developer experience and system performance. • Collaboration & Enablement: Partner closely with domain teams to understand their needs, provide technical guidance, and ensure seamless integration of new features and improvements. • Best Practices & Standards: Establish and promote guidelines for high-quality, maintainable Rails code, automated testing, and CI/CD. • Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing: Mentor engineers across the organization, lead technical discussions, and create training materials to elevate Rails expertise company-wide. • Communication & Influence: Act as a key liaison between platform and domain teams, facilitating clear communication, driving consensus, and ensuring alignment on technical direction. • Continuous Improvement: Stay current with the Ruby on Rails ecosystem, proactively introducing new tools, techniques, and patterns to keep our platform at the forefront of modern web development.

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of experience building and architecting large-scale web applications with Ruby on Rails. • Deep, up-to-date expertise in Ruby on Rails, including the latest features, patterns, and best practices. • Proven track record of leading technical transformations or platform modernization in production environments. • Experience with modularization, service boundaries, and evolving complex Rails systems. • Significant experience designing, building, testing, and operating distributed systems in a SaaS environment, with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance. • Experience with technologies such as AWS, Kubernetes, Kafka, Redis, MySQL, and modern observability and CI/CD tooling. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to partner effectively across multiple engineering teams. • Demonstrated ability to mentor and influence engineers at all levels.
