📋 Description

• Design scalable, secure, and highly available cloud database solutions; choose appropriate database types and develop data models and schema designs • Provision and configure cloud database instances (e.g., Amazon RDS, Azure SQL, Oracle Autonomous); migrate on-premises databases to the cloud and plan/execute database upgrades • Monitor database performance using cloud-native and third-party tools; identify and resolve bottlenecks; implement indexing, partitioning, and caching strategies • Implement access controls, encryption, and auditing; ensure compliance with data protection regulations (e.g., HIPAA, HL7) and regularly review security policies • Set up automated backup and disaster recovery solutions; test and document recovery procedures; configure replication, failover, and clustering for high availability • Automate database provisioning and configuration using Terraform or CloudFormation; develop scripts for routine maintenance and monitoring • Work with developers, DevOps, and IT teams to support application requirements; troubleshoot database-related issues and provide technical support • Monitor and optimize database resource usage to control cloud costs; recommend right-sizing and cost-saving measures • Support full software development lifecycle with focus on automation, efficiency, and reliability

🎯 Requirements

• Clearance: Public Trust • U.S. Citizenship; Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, computer science, engineering, or related technical discipline • 5 years relevant experience (degree may be substituted for 8 years of experience) • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills • Expert communication and client management skills • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and organized • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills • Flexible, able to adapt to different customer groups and expectations • Experience working in and with cross-functional teams • Outcome-oriented approach focused on delivering measurable, data-driven results
